Okay...my husband and I just recently bought a house and is currently remodeling.

Anyway...hubby wants me to ask this question.

What should we do first, carpet all the floors, or make the bathroom disability accessible.

We will greatly appreciate your opinion.

Thanks, Weebles.

Personally, given the fact that most severe accidents happen in the bathroom, I'd probably start there. I don't know if you have disabilities other than blindness, but even so, given the track record with the general public, I'd still go with the bathroom. If you have a disability that impairs your ability to ambulate safely, carpet might be a good idea, but in a worst case scenario, you could always anchor the carpet with heavy furniture and get area rugs, provided they cover the major portions of the room, and not necessarilly where you would be walking. Good luck.

I agree with Lou. I'd definitely start with the bathroom, since a lot of accidents happen there.

Holly, That's funny. Seriously though, when you think of the hazzards in the bathroom from electrical shocks at the sink to tripping when getting in and out of the shower or tub. I know someone who recently died of a massive heart attack in the shower.
